About me and my practice

My name is Luisa Passalacqua, and I give the best of counselling and coaching to help people become empowered from within. My main focus is the way we can overcome challenges and develop our full potential. Although some people seek practical advice, counselling and coaching are mostly appreciated because they act in a subtle way so you make your own decisions.

MY TRAINING
When I relocated back to the UK in 2020 I was already a qualified counsellor abroad, but decided to step up with an Advanced Diploma at the Heartwood Centre (London) to meet the new UK professional standards. My approach is further enriched by a postgraduate diploma in dramatherapy, which I later applied to work environments, as well as a decade experience as a performance coach.

MY APPROACH
Our experience is often articulated by others in a way that is distorted and only convenient to them. In the long run we end up misrepresenting ourselves and forget what has been left unrepresented, which in turn becomes disease. The counsellor has been trained to be a good listener and to manage the time and space of the session in such a way that you feel free to shape your own experience.

Relationship and Family Counselling Certificate - Oplex, London (Level 3 CPD + 3 years experience)
PG Diploma in Dramatherapy - School of Art & Design, University of Hertfordshire (Level 6)
MSc in Occupational and Organisational Psychology - University of Rome La Sapienza (Level 7 equivalent)
Combined Certificate in Counselling Skills and Theory - Central School of Counselling & Therapy, London (Level 2)
Introduction to Psychodrama - University of Rome 'La Sapienza' (6 months)
MA in Anthropology of Art - University College London (Level 7)
Medical Anthropology - as part of both Dramatherapy and Anthropology of Art, University of Hertfordshire and UCL (6 months)

Additional Information

I employ a diverse range of techniques, including psychodynamic, Gestalt, cognitive, transactional analysis, and sensorimotor techniques, to cater to your unique needs. For trauma-related issues, I integrate psychodrama, CBT, and a gentle form of hypnosis into my practice. I consistently attend CPDs and seminars about a number of related topics, my favourite ones being: art therapies, psychoanalysis, mentalisation-based therapy (MBT), sleep hygiene, coaching, children and young people.
